Before our story began in Brighton, Salome and Stella Montoya operated the first La Estrellita in Fort Lupton, CO from 1955 to 1968. In October 1986, their son John and his family returned to the tradition of providing authentic Mexican cuisine that had long been a part of their family. Today, his daughter, Gina follows her father’s footsteps, just as he followed his parent’s. It has been over three decades since opening in Brighton, and La Estrellita has won multiple awards ranging from our friendly service, to our authentic pork green chile. We can’t wait to serve you, and welcome your family to our kitchen table.

La Estrellita is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in town, offering an authentic culinary experience like no other. Not only is their menu diverse and flavorful, but the service is exceptional and the atmosphere is welcoming. One dish that stands out above the rest are their stuffed sopapillas - a heavenly combination of fluffy, fried dough filled with savory meats, beans, cheese, and toppings. The sopapillas practically melt in your mouth with every bite, leaving you craving more long after the meal is over. La Estrellita truly knows how to elevate traditional Mexican cuisine into a culinary masterpiece that will keep you coming back for more. Overall, this restaurant deserves all the praise and recognition it receives for its outstanding food and overall dining experience.

Omg. By far the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. The restaurant was packed full of people having a great time and enjoying their food. I got the #14 and it was awesome. The Chile Rellenos are crispy and fried to perfection. Not once did we go without empty drinks and we always had chips and salsa. I wish I got our waitresses name she was attentive and did a great job. I recommend this place to everyone.

We absolutely love La Estrella! The green chili is absolutely on point. You have the ability to order medium, hot and my favorite, extra hot! The chili has large chunks of pork which makes it super delicious. The Chili Relleno bites, #9 (with extra 🔥 chili) and a sopapilla - definitely a must try if you're traveling through Brighton.
